Creating a Home for 3,000 O2 Employees: Europe’s Most Inspiring HQ

The challenge

  • To merge three sites into a super-campus for 3,000 people and 200,000 sq ft space that would not just house the business, but bring our brand and people culture to life every day.

  • To make the combined new and old buildings feel like one natural home
    for O2

  • And all for £43.58m

  • Unify an old building with a new architectural extension, and create a vision that would better connect our people. We needed to design a seamless, immersive brand experience from the ground up — making innovation visible, our culture tangible, and creating an environment that sparked pride and possibility.

What we did

We anchored the design around storytelling spaces. Meeting rooms were named after iconic parks, each a visual and sensory celebration of its namesake.

  • Windsor Great Park (our boardroom) featured an actual fibreglass oak tree, a bold statement of rooted strength and growth.

  • We used playful, unexpected details: bird boxes, mosaics, and immersive textures that made every space a discovery.

  • Our campaign room featured beloved characters from our TV ads, keeping our products, services, and brand narratives front and centre.

  • Clever touches in the design brought the brand to life in the surroundings

  • Used ‘intuitive navigation’ to design organic routes round the building

  • Put on tours, ‘meet your neighbours’ events and a moving-in party to make everyone feel at home

  • Every corner of the HQ celebrated what made us proud — from our interactive partnerships like The O2 and England Rugby to our award-winning loyalty programme, O2 Priority.

The Result:
A vibrant, future-ready HQ that became a living embodiment of the O2 brand. A space that connected our people emotionally and functionally, broke down silos, and inspired daily creativity and collaboration.
